I was just a little guy, not quite 3 years old. There had been several days of heavy spring rains in my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana, and I had gone with my Dad and Grandpa to the Lakeshore Drive area to see the flash-flood waters that had overflowed our favorite fishing spot on Cross Lake.
