Lighting the Fuse of Your Faith!

Mark 1:40-42
⁴⁰ Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, “If you’re willing, you can make me clean.” ⁴¹ Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” ⁴² As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

Think about this: From the moment Jesus spoke the words, “I am willing!” to this leper, every doubt about God’s willingness to heal should have disappeared, not only from this man’s heart and mind, but from the human race… forever! God is no “respector of persons”. What He is willing to do for one person, He is willing to do for all!

Jesus’ words weren’t just for a single leper 2,000 years ago. They are for every person in every generation that will ever live on this planet. Remember, He said, heaven and earth would pass away, but His words are eternal.

TAKE HIS WORD PERSONALLY
Those words of hope, faith, healing and deliverance are for YOU personally TODAY! “I am willing!” Receive that as God’s exclusive promise to YOU! When Jesus spoke those words, He opened the heart of the Father, and revealed His passionate willingness to heal YOU! He wants YOU to know and experience His endless mercy, His amazing grace, and His eternal love!

He is able! He is willing! And He is ready!

He accomplishes, achieves, and fulfills His desire to heal us through the agency of His Word. God’s Word has exactly the same healing power that God Himself has.

“He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
(Psalm 107:20)

The Hebrew word for “sent” is “chalah”. One of its primary meanings is “a missle or weapon.” Just as men of war in Biblical times fought their enemies with arrows and spears, God today dispatches His Word like a military force, to annihilate and completely vanquish sickness, pain, and infirmity in our lives.

“For the Word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword…” (Hebrews 4:12, Amplified Bible)

Notice two important truths in Hebrews 4:12:

First, the Word is “full of power. The Greek word translated as power is the word, “dunamis”, which is also the source of our English word, “dynamite”.

Secondly, we see the Word of God described in Hebrews as being “sharper than any two-edged sword”. This reinforces what we just learned in Psalm 107:20 about God sending His Word like a missle, or weapon to heal us and save us from destruction.

God is willing to launch a full-scale military assault against the enemies of your body. All the healing power of God is poised to attack and drive sickness, pain, and weakness out of your life. These powerful forces are simply awaiting your command!

The Word is your weapon. Use it! You have the two-edged sword. Swing it! You have missles. Launch them! You have an enormous supply of spiritual dynamite. Light the fuse of your faith!

TRUST YOUR WEAPONS SUPPLIER
Ultimately our victory over sickness and infirmity depends on the source of our weapons, and the strength of our supply lines.

The source? God’s own arsenal. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians10:4, The Voice, “The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world, but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth.”

Let’s talk about supply, because if you have ever been, in the past, or if you are now engaged in a long drawn-out health battle, you know that after a period of time, you tend to get weary.

You begin to be assaulted by doubts. Your joy starts to evaporate, and with it, your strength. Your arrows and missles are spent. You feel like you are losing your grip on your sword. Let’s be honest, you’re in trouble! To win your battle, you need a greater supply. The good news is that Holy Spirit stands, ever-ready to resupply you.

Paul, writing to the Church at Philippi, from his prison cell in Rome, said, “for I know [with confidence] that this will turn out for my deliverance and spiritual well-being, through your prayers and the [superabundant] supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ [which upholds me].”
(Philippians 1:19, Amplified Bible)

Note: The phrase “supply of” is more accurately translated as “supply given by.”

Hmmm! Prison! Do you think you might need a fresh supply of hope, faith, and joy if you were in a dark, dreary, smelly, dungeon, in the midst of Caesar’s stronghold?

Paul certainly sounds confident, doesn’t he? Is someone going to supply Paul with the tools and weapons he needs for a jailbreak? Actually, YES! And that Someone is right there with Paul in his cell… Holy Spirit Himself, Paul’s Co-Conspirator and Cellmate! The Apostle Paul had become a “Christian con-man” (confidence-man) by hanging out constantly with Holy Spirit! He knew he could depend on Holy Spirit to resupply him and lead him to victory! And that jailbreak Paul expected happened!

Shortly after this epistle was written, Paul was released from prison to house arrest, where He wrote at least four more books of the New Testament. (Hebrews, Titus, and 1st and 2nd Timothy)

But that was then, and this us now. Hopefully, you’re not in prison. But you may be in a prison of pain, disease, and discomfort. You may be in desperate need of healing right now! You may be experiencing troubling symptoms in your body. You may be reeling after receiving your diagnostic test results. You may be gritting your teeth and wondering how and when you will ever get relief from your chronic pain. You may be inwardly crying out to God and saying, “I can’t take anymore!”

THANK HIM FOR YOUR HEALTHY LIFE

You need help! You need a victory! You need healing! You need a miracle!

Realize that Holy Spirit, the same Spirit who touched the leper through Jesus’ hands, is as close to you as your own breath. The same Spirit that spoke through Jesus to the leper is speaking to your heart today. He is saying to you, right now, “I AM WILLING!”

And He is going to abundantly supply every resource and weapon you need to win this fight.

Please take a moment to look back at the word “supply” in Philippians 1:19. This word (Greek = “epichoregia”) is the source of our English words
choir, chorus, chords (groupings of musical notes) and choreography. In Bible days, a “choreo” was a wealthy person who financed a party, a festival, or a celebration, supplying the public stage, the musicians, the choir, and the choreographed dance groups, as well as the food and drinks for the feast.

Its root word “choros” is found in Luke 15:25, in the story of the prodigal son. The older brother was upset when he heard the sound of music (sumphonia) and dancing (choros), celebrating his brother’s return home.

The point of all we have learned is this: God loves YOU, passionately and personally. He wants to heal YOU! He has sent His healing power to YOU through His living, active power-filled Word. His Words are mighty weapons, designed to completely dominate. dismantle, and destroy every disease and disorder in your physical body.

Through His Word and the power of Holy Spirit, He will abundantly supply every need you have for the battle: wisdom, hope, encouragement, faith, love, peace, joy, finances, relief from pain, miracles, signs, and wonders. And if your supply runs low, He will resupply you, always giving you more than enough to win the battle.

On that day when the pain leaves, when the scan is negative, when you feel good again, when your doctor says your lab results look good, Holy Spirit is going to supply even more. He’s going to choreograph a Hallelujah, Hip-Hop, Hoedown, Heavenly, Hullabaloo for YOU!

You know what? You can start your celebration by faith right now. Did I hear someone say, “Oh, I don’t want to get ahead of God because my healing is not manifested yet”? You can’t possibly get ahead of God. You’re not waiting for God to do something. He’s already done it. Jesus Himself took our sickness, pains, and infirmities just as surely as He took our sins. And by His stripes we are healed! (Isaiah 53:3-5)

God is always ahead of us. He knows the end from the beginning. He’s already provided healing for you and seen you healed and perfectly whole. Now He’s just waiting for you to receive what He’s already done!

Are you ready now? Then, lift your hands toward Him, and begin to thank and praise Him for your healing. He is willing, and by Jesus’ stripes YOU ARE HEALED!
