His Heart, My Home

“For out of His fullness, the superabundance of His grace and truth, we have all received grace upon grace, spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift.” (John 1:16, Amplified Bible)

As I was preparing the message for this post, I sensed the Lord speaking this to my heart:

“Stand on the shores of time and eternity, and consider what you are witnessing. Wave after wave surges to the sandy beach upon which you stand. As one wave becomes a ripple, another, bigger, stronger, takes its place. They roll in, one, after another, after another. You are seeing the portrayal of my grace. Wave after wave, grace upon grace, blessing upon blessing, favor upon favor, gift heaped upon gift, from my loving heart to you… forever!”

You may be struggling right now, depressed, lonely, fearful, dejected and hopeless. I invite you to stand by faith on that shore with Jesus. Let Him assure you of His love. Let Him name each wave of blessing as it rolls in and gently washes your feet. Realize that He is the Giver of every good and perfect gift and that He will always be there faithfully loving you!

Count Your Blessings – Johnson Oatman, Jr.
First Verse:
When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Speak the words out loud as you “count” each blessing below:

Today, Father, I want to thank you for the many blessings you have so graciously given to me:

My Salvation
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving me. Thank you for bearing my sins and dying on the cross for me, so that I could come to the Father, and receive His forgiveness and mercy. Thank you for being my Savior and my Lord. Thank you that I am saved! I am born-again! I am a child of God, and I have eternal life through my union with you.

Your Word
Thank you, Father, for your Word. Your Word is the Bread of Life to me, feeding, nourishing, strengthening, and sustaining me. Thank you for the faith that comes to me as I receive your Word. I grow stronger in faith as your Word grows in me.
Your Word is living in me, enlightening my soul and healing my body.

Your Spirit
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your ministry to me. You are my Helper, my Comforter, my Advocate, my Intercessor, my Counselor, my Strengthener, and my Standby. You live in me, changing me and empowering me to live the Christian life. I am truly thankful that you are always with me, and that you will never leave me, nor forsake me.

My Health
Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You bore my sickness and carried my pains. You were wounded for my transgressions, and bruised for my iniquities. The chastisement that was necessary for my peace was upon you, and by your stripes, I am healed! Thank you, Lord. You forgive all my iniquities and heal all my diseases.

My Marriage
Thank you, Father, for your blessing upon our marriage. May our marriage always reflect the love-relationship of Jesus and His Bride, the Church. Father, your unconditional love, has been poured out in our hearts by Holy Spirit. Thank you for enabling that love to flow freely from our hearts to each other, soaking into, and satisfying our need to love and be loved. Thank you that as we submit ourselves to you and to each other that our love will never fail.

My Children/Grandchildren
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for my children and grandchildren. I thank you that they are your disciples, taught by your Spirit, and obedient to your will. I also thank you for their peace and undisturbed composure. Thank you that my children and grandchildren honor, esteem, value and obey their parents, and grandparents as your representatives. Thank you, Father, that you help them choose life and blessing, and that they love you, Lord, obeying you, and clinging to you, all the days of their lives.

My Family
Thank you, Father, for my family. Your Word says that because I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ I will be saved, and my household as well. Thank you that each member of my family will receive your Word, welcome your Spirit, experience your saving grace, and love you with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. I also thank you that they will come to know the exceeding greatness of your power to us as believers, and walk in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. I thank you that my loved ones, as believers, are sealed by your Spirit, who is the guarantor of our inheritance, until the day of our final redemption.

My Pastors
Thank you, Father, for my pastors, who have the hearts of true shepherds. Thank you for filling their lives with all joy and peace, as they trust in you, so that they may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for equipping my pastors with everything necessary for doing your will. As our Good Shepherd, I thank you for working in my pastors what is pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.

My Church Family
Thank you, Father, for my Church Family. Thank you for creating a greater hunger for your Word and a deeper thirst for your Spirit in all of us.
Thank you for a fresh outpouring of your Holy Spirit upon our Church. Thank you for igniting in our hearts a passion for revival and spiritual awakening. Thank you for renewing our love for you, and our zeal for your Kingdom. Thank you for uniting us as one in love. May our lives and our gatherings be marked by the presence and power of your Spirit, bringing transformation and revival to our city and region.

My Home
Thank you, Father, for my home. Thank you, that my home stands on the solid foundation of your Word, and that you fill it with good and pleasant things. Lord Jesus, I thank you that you are the Cornerstone of my home, and that you protect it with the holy angels from all loss, damage, and destruction. I thank you, Lord, that you bless my dwelling place and fill it with the love, joy, and peace of your presence.

My Job
Thank you, Father-God, for enabling me to work, and for making me successful on my job. Thank you for the owners, managers, supervisors, and co-workers at my place of employment. Thank you for harmony among the members of our team and peace in our workplace.Thank you for blessing and prospering our business.

My Needs Met
Thank you, Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider. You see every need in my life… spirit, soul, and body. You faithfully meet all my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I thank you that I am blessed financially and that you prosper me so that I may give generously to help spread the gospel around the world.

Our Nation/Freedom
Thank you, Father for this great nation—the United States of America. I thank you that it was founded on your Word, and by faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I thank you that our nation is greatly blessed because of this foundation. Thank you for the freedoms we enjoy. Thank you, Father, for breathing a fresh wind of unity over our nation. Let your Holy Spirit prevail in every area of our nation, our churches, our government, our schools    our businesses, and our homes. Help believers in our nation to walk in love and unity together, so that all may see that we are one and know the power of the one true, living God.

Thank you, for these and all our other blessings.
