Speak the Healing Word!

We saw in our last post entitled, “Hear the Healing Word” (9/3/24) that there is a vitally important connection between the Word of God and the healing power of God. That connection is our hearing the Word, and receiving it, into an open and receptive heart. The Word, then, like seed, produces after its own kind.

For example, teaching, from the Word, on how to have a godly marriage, when it is sown into the soil of our heart, produces healing, stability, and renewal in our marriages. (Ephesians 5:22-33)

Scriptures on overcoming fear will produce the fruit of freedom from fear, and give us peace and confidence in our lives. (2 Timothy 1:7)

And, if we sow God’s Word on healing into our hearts, we can confidently expect that divine healing in our bodies will be the result.
(1 Peter 2:24)

We are so blessed here in America to have so many avenues through which we can find and receive the word of God on any topic. There are bookstores, CD’s, podcasts, seminars, and round-the-clock, on-demand teaching being streamed 24/7/365, on the subject of healing.

There are also churches in every town and city throughout our nation, where hopefully we can find the Word of God being taught and preached on the subject of divine healing.

But all those methods of planting healing-seeds, while good, are not best, nor the most reliable means of ensuring a harvest of healing.
What do I mean by this? Let me explain.

Have you ever heard the term “straight from the horse’s mouth?” It means “to get information directly from the most reliable and authoritative source.”

God designed, engineered, and created the human body. It is an incredibly complex and powerful biological masterpiece with awesome physical and mental capabilities. And He is the most reliable and authoritative source of information about the healing and care of our bodies.

As our Creator, the Lord knows how to perfectly diagnose, treat, and cure our bodies when they are broken, and also how to keep them operating efficiently.

He has given us the Owner’s Manual (His Word) so we can cooperate with Him in that healing process. He specifically designed a direct connection system from our mouth, to our ears, in order to facilitate the sowing of healing-seeds into our hearts.

We can easily see how this system works as we consider the healing of the woman who was plagued with the issue of blood for twelve years. (Mark 5:25-34)

Let’s review:

● She heard of Jesus.

● She then began to speak her faith, saying over and over again, “If I can only touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed.”

● These faith-filled words created even more faith in her heart with each repetition. As her faith grew stronger, so did her body.

● Strengthened now, she continued to act on her faith by pressing through the large crowd of people to get to Jesus.

● She touched the hem of Jesus’ garments, in effect “making a demand” on His healing power, and receiving her miracle.

That’s the power of faith-filled words! The greatest source of faith is our own mouth, speaking God’s Word!

Let’s try a little experiment that will show us what a powerfully efficient faith-generating system God has incorporated in the connection between our mouths and our ears.

Speak the following words, out loud, in a normal tone of voice. As you do, pay close attention to the sound quality and volume level of your own voice.

Are you ready? Okay. Now speak this, as you listen to yourself.

SAY: “By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed.”

Now, put your index fingers tightly into both your ears, in effect plugging them up, while you speak the same sentence, at the same volume level, as before.

SAY: “By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed.”

Compare the volume levels your voice each time you spoke. Did you notice anything that was unexpected or unusual when comparing the two?

If you followed the instructions correctly, you noticed that’s your voice actually seems louder when your fingers are in your ears! Why?

It’s because we don’t normally hear our own voices with our outer ears, but with our inner ears. That’s why when we hear ourselves on a recording device most people say, “That doesn’t sound like me. Do I really sound like that?” We are simply not used to hearing ourselves in any other way, than with our inner ears.

So what does all this have to do with faith and with healing?

The path from your mouth, to your inner ears, to your auditory nerve, and onward to your brain is the quickest, most direct, reliable, and efficient route to get the Word of God into the soil of your heart.

It’s the express lane, the fast track for building strong faith. Why? Because you believe you (your own words) more quickly and thoroughly than you believe anyone else.

As Christians, we know that, in the beginning, God created everything with his Word. We live in a Word-created, Word-controlled universe.

The Bible tells us that God calls those things that be not as though they were. God brings the things He desires into being into the natural, physical world through the faith-filled Words that He speaks. (Romans 4:17)

And He created us in His image and likeness, to live and function like Him. When we speak God’s Word, saying what He has already declared, we are operating in the same creative miraculous realm that He inhabits.

Because they are so incredibly powerful, we must be careful concerning the words we are speaking, especially about our physical health.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.
(Proverbs 18:21, Amplified Bible)

The words we speak are powerful! We can use our words in a powerfully positive way to cast mountains into the sea.
(Mark 11:23)

Or we can use them negatively to cause our lives to go up in smoke. (James 3:3-6)

The ultimate outcome; sickness or health, death or life, depends on which words we choose to speak over our lives.

So say this: “God, you forgive all my sins. You heal all my diseases.” (Psalm 103:3)

Not this: “Seems like everbody has the flu this year. I guess I’m next.”

Say this: “Jesus Himself took my infirmities and bore my sickness.” (Matthew 8:17)

Not this: “I hardly slept at all last night. I’ve probably got that bad stomach virus that’s going around.”

Say this: “The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me, and makes my body healthy and strong. (Romans 8:11)

Not this: “They saw a shadow on the X-ray. I’m afraid it might be cancer. My mom died of lung cancer, and I imagine that’s what the doctor will tell me when he gets my biopsy results.”

Say this: “By Jesus’ stripes, I have been healed. ” (Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24)

Not this: “Well, the Lord can heal me if He wants to, but you never know for sure what He’ll do.”

We can sum up everything we’ve learned about the principle of speaking God’s Word by looking at Romans 10:17 in a slightly modified form:

“So then faith (for healing) comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word (that you speak)!”

Now is the time to partner with Holy Spirit for your healing-harvest!

Hear the Word!

Receive the Word!

Speak the Word!

Sow the Word!

Be healed by the Word!
