“I Am Willing!”

Recently, Grace and I learned that one of our dear friends in the Philippines is in the midst of a serious battle for her health. Of course, she is in our prayers, but we wanted to do even more than pray.

We wanted to surround our friend with love and faith. And we wanted to share the healing power of God’s Word, not just with our friend, but for all of our family, friends, and readers who may be struggling with their own health issues right now.

If you are sick, or in pain, and needing a healing miracle, please let Holy Spirit speak to your heart as you read this post. Meditate on the powerful healing scriptures it contains.

After reading the post, go to the tab marked Confessing the Word. Scroll down to the last faith confession which is Confession for Healing. Read that confession out loud several times a day. God’s Word is God’s medicine!

One more thing. If you have come to this site and you aren’t sick, thank God! Now, please share this post with family or friends who may be needing healing. Thank you!

We are believing that you will be made perfectly whole as you realize how passionately your Heavenly Father loves you, and accept His healing power by faith!

John 3:16, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, or be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”

Why did God give us His Son? Because He is love. His nature is to love, and love gives!

Jesus said, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me. (John 6:38)

I want you to notice the word sent. Jesus was sent by God for a specific purpose. Jesus said that the things He heard from His Father, He spoke, and the things He saw His Father do, He did. His words, as well as His actions, reveal the true character of our Heavenly Father.
(John 5:19,20)

Why did God send His Son? “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8b)

What are the works of the devil? Most of us have a job or an occupation that we spend time doing most days. The devil also has an occupation… a full-time job to which he devotes himself.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.
(John 10:10)

That’s all the devil does… He steals, kills, and destroys.

Jesus came to dismantle and destroy what the devil has done. Jesus came to give spiritual life in place of spiritual death. Jesus came to give health in place of sickness. Jesus came to take back what has been stolen, and to rebuild what the devil has destroyed. Jesus came so that we might have life more abundantly, to the full, till it overflows!

Some people believe that God gives us sickness to teach us something. That is absolutely wrong. Jesus told us to pray that God’s will would be done on earth, as it is in heaven. We know there is no sickness in heaven. Therefore, we know that sickness is not the will of God, in heaven, or in earth.

So, exactly why is there sickness in the earth? The reason is quite simple. Satan is the author of all evil, hatred, strife, sickness, sin, and death. Why does satan want to do these terrible things? It’s because he is in complete rebellion against God. He hates God, and so he attacks (steals from, kills, and destroys) God’s most precious possession, His human family.

Either directly, or indirectly satan is the primary source of all the sickness, disease, and bodily infirmities in the human race.

Let’s look at just one example of Jesus fulfilling His mission to destroy the works of the devil.

Mark 1:40-42
⁴⁰ Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, “If you’re willing, you can make me clean.” ⁴¹ Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” ⁴² As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

It’s important that we understand what was taking place in this encounter between Jesus and this man. The leper had the same questioning approach that literally millions of Christians still have today concerning God’s will for healing their bodies.

If you are like this man, you know that God has the ability to heal you. You know there is no limit to His power! But what you may not know is if He’s willing to use His power to help you. So listen carefully as Jesus addresses your doubting uncertainty through His words to the leper.

Jesus made the will of God for healing perfectly clear for all time and eternity. Verse 41 says that Jesus, moved with compassion, put out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I AM WILLING; BE CLEANSED!”

Other translations of the Bible record Jesus’ response to this man as:

“Of course, I want to. Be cured!” (Jerusalem)

“It is my pleasure; be clean!” ( Basic English)

“I am desiring it from all my heart. Be cleansed at once.” (Wuest)

The Greek word, translated as “willing” in this verse is “thelo”. It means, “to want to; to intend; to purpose; to be resolved and determined to do something; to take pleasure or delight in an action.

Jesus was sent to the Earth because of the Father’s love. Acts 10:38 tells us that ” God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil for God was with Him.” Did you notice that? Sick people were being oppressed by the devil. Jesus healed them ALL!

God doesn’t show favoritism. He sees us all in the same way. He loves and cherishes us all. What He was willing to do for the leper, He is willing to do for you.

I’m sure you noticed the word ALL in Acts 10:38. The Texas word translated as “all” is “y’all” which means YOU ALL! Settle it in your heart and mind once and for all that God wants to heal ALL those suffering the pain and oppression of sickness and disease. That absolutely includes YOU!

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:8 that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever!” His love for mankind has not faded. His power to heal has not waned. His willingness to heal has not changed.

Jesus says to YOU right now, “I AM WILLING!
I do want to heal YOU! It is my intent and my purpose to heal YOU! I am resolved and determined to make YOU whole! It would give me great pleasure and delight to heal YOU completely!”

“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) Just as Jesus showed compassion to the man suffering with leprosy, He will pour out His compassion on you, as you come to Him with simple child-like faith, simply believing.

You are loved! Be healed, in Jesus’ name!
